What AKAL provides

AKAL is an online marketplace where sellers present agricultural investment opportunities and buyers can learn about them and send inquiries. AKAL checks submissions for completeness and reads inquiries, but it is not a party to any agreement between a buyer and a seller.

Fees

AKAL does not charge buyers or sellers during the beta. If AKAL introduces fees, we will publish them here before they apply. They will never apply to inquiries already sent, and AKAL will never charge sellers for opportunities already listed.

Verification and transaction costs

Independent verification is optional; a seller who wants it commissions and pays an approved third party directly.

The costs of the transaction itself, such as legal, registration and transfer fees and any surveyor either party hires, are between buyer and seller. AKAL is not a party to the transaction and does not hold funds.

No advice and no brokerage

Nothing on AKAL is investment, financial, legal, tax or agronomic advice. AKAL does not act as your broker, agent or adviser, and it does not recommend any opportunity.

No promises about outcomes

AKAL does not promise any return, yield, income, appreciation, financing, legal transfer or completed transaction. Asking prices are set by sellers, and per-feddan figures are for comparison only.

Seller responsibilities

• Sellers are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of everything they submit.
• Sellers must have the right to offer what they describe and to upload the photos and documents they provide.
• Sellers must tell AKAL promptly when material information changes.

Buyer responsibilities

• Buyers are responsible for their own due diligence, including legal review, site visits and independent professional advice.
• Inquiries must be genuine and must not contain false information.

Provenance labels

Provenance labels describe how far AKAL has checked information at the time they were assigned. They have the limited meanings set out on the Trust & verification page and are not a warranty of any fact.

Documents

Documents uploaded by sellers are kept private and are available only to the seller and to the AKAL team. AKAL does not publish them.

Acceptable use

• Do not submit false, misleading or unlawful content.
• Do not scrape the site, attempt to access private areas or interfere with its operation.
• Do not use information from AKAL to contact sellers outside the process described on How it works.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, AKAL is not liable for decisions made on the basis of information published by sellers. The precise limits of liability will be set out after legal review.

Changes to these terms

These terms will change, first when the legal review is complete. Material changes will be shown on this page.
